About the Game

Manor Lords aims to provide a gridless, organic city-building experience with full freedom of placement and rotation, but utilizing snapping tools to make the planning more comfortable.

Gameplay Features

Organic Citybuilding

The building mechanic is motivated by the growth of real medieval towns and villages, where major trade routes and landscape often influenced how the settlement shaped and developed.

Historical Realism

Whilst Manor Lords is not set in a particular century, it contains elements of medieval buildings and historically, buildings from XI-XV century Europe. Game laws mean that fields must be plowed by a team of oxen, iron bloomed in the bloomery, and the sheep hearded on the pastures goverened by the Lord of the Manor. Furthermore, seasons pass through the game and the weather changes too. Tows are succeptable to war, disease and famine and thus, can rise and fall at any time.

Large Scale Battles

In true medieval fashion, the game contains elements of bloody and brutal war, with armoured soldiers battling on the field. The game aims to portray battles that feel real, with large scale unit formations, morale, flanking and also elements of fatigue and exposure to the weather.

The Technology

Manor Lords is built on solid foundations using popular technologies to give the game an authentic feel. These include, motion capture, photogrammetry and simulation. This combination gives the game an authentic and appealing look and feel when playing.
